UEFA EURO 2020 What Singapore Football Fans Need to Know ?

After the official media news releases, we have been informed that some UEFA EURO 2020 games have been reassigned to other stadiums, which include Football Arena Munich.
But the good news is that fans are still permitted to attend the football games. To assist anxious ticket holders with their decision making to attend the matches, here are some of the questions which are regularly asked most of the time.

What game schedules have been moved and to what venue?

Seville has been selected to be a new EURO 2020 host city. There are 4 games that were originally scheduled in Bilbao but will be moved to Seville’s Estadio La Cartuja. But this venue will only take in 30 percent of its capacity.

Three games in Group E which were assigned to Dublin will now be staged in Saint Petersburg Stadium

The Round of 16 game which was originally set for Dublin is now assigned to Wembley Stadium in London

It has been decided that the 11 final EUFA EURO 2020 host cities are the following :

  • Saint Petersburg
  • Seville, Rome
  • London
  • Munich
  • Glasgow
  • Copenhagen
  • Budapest
  • Bucharest
  • Baku and Amsterdam.

Will the fans be able to be physically present to attend the EUFA EURO 2020 matches?

Yes, they can definitely, for this summer. But they will have to adjust to limited capacity in each stadium.
Baku and Saint Petersburg will only allow capacities of 50 percent.
Budapest will have the goal of 100 percent stadium capacity, but with very stringent venue entry requirements.
Seville, Rome, Glasgow, Copenhagen, Bucharest and Amsterdam will be willing to host 25 to 33 percent of their stadium capacity.
London has announced a 25 percent capacity for the first 3 group games and round of 16 game to held there.
Munich has declared a hosting of a minimum of 14,500 fans, which equate to 22 percent of the venue capacity.

What were the guidelines around how the stadium capacity decisions were made?

The decisions were enacted by the hosts. Their major basis was the avoidance of a health crisis to happen in their host countries. Other factors include vaccination rollout on the local level, the host cities’ plans to reopen their economy, and the expected slow down of the Covid virus due to the warmer summer weather.

The EUFA EURO 2020 is even a vital part of many countries with regards to their national recovery strategies.

The EUFA organization has even worked closely with the World Health Organization or WHO. It has utilized the WHO COVID 19 risk assessment tool for the EURO 2020 season.

What will happen now to my purchased Bilbao and Dublin tickets?

They will be canceled. You will receive a full refund equivalent to the face value of your canceled tickets.

Check your email because the EUFA ticketing department will send important messages to all existing ticket buyers like you in due time.

If you are an existing ticket holder for Dublin and Bilbao games, you will be given priority privilege for future reassigned games.

Will the tickets for the reassigned matches go on sale?

Yes. In due time, information about ticket sales for the transferred matches to Seville, Saint Petersburg and London will be accessed online through euro 2020.com/tickets.

Is the portal for ticket returns still open?

No, it is closed for all the venues except for Munich. All ticket owners for Munich games can still return their tickets through the EUFA ticketing portal up until April 26 Monday, 14:00 CEST.

If you’re going to Europe from abroad, be familiar with the border entry requirements when you make the decision to either retain or return your tickets. If you’re not sure as of the moment, it is recommended that you return your ticket immediately.

What will happen if the tickets sold will be more (most likely) than the new agreed venue capacities?

If the tickets will be more, there will be a fair random ballot to be held so as to comply with the capacity requirements of the host city. If you didn’t have the luck of the ballot, you will be given a full face value refund of your match tickets.

With regards to Covid 19 travel restrictions, will I be able to journey to a EURO 2020 host city from my country?

Covid 19 regulations are always changing, so it might be very complicated to arrange for travel plans from abroad to Europe.
Always be familiar with border entry restrictions. Please be informed in advance that we will not facilitate any special privilege for ticket holders.
Your obligations may include quarantine, the provision of a negative Covid 19 test result, and a pre-dictated limited length of stay in the host country. It might be also possible that your entry from abroad will not be allowed in the first place.

Hungary, Azerbaijan and Russia have already publicly announced special procedures that are to be enforced

If you are a ticket holder going to Budapest, Hungary, quarantine is not required. But a negative Covid 19 test result is still being asked from you.
Only citizens and residents of Turkey, Switzerland and the UK, and quarter finalist countries are allowed entry into Baku, Azerbaijan. Other countries are not permitted entry. These allowed foreigners from the 3 countries and the quarter finalist countries mentioned need not quarantine, but will be required a negative Covid 19 test result.

Saint Petersburg entry requirements are still being drawn up at the moment. If you're also going to Bucharest, you will benefit from the quarantine exemption if you stay less than 3 days and present a negative Covid 19 result
